May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face. And rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.
~ Irish Blessing
May your neighbors respect you, Trouble neglect you, The angels protect you, And heaven accept you.
~ Irish Blessing May today there be peace within. May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith. May you use those gifts that you have received,
and pass on the love that has been given to you.... May you be content knowing you are a child of God.... Let this presence settle into your bones,
and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us.
Amen
Happy Father's Day
by Tami Blackwell
Give 'em a hug, a great big kiss. Because one day, he will be greatly missed.
My daddy has gone far away from this land, I miss the precious touch of his loving hands.
I never knew last year was the last day, I could look at my daddy, hug him, and say: "I love you, Daddy! Happy Father's Day!"
Don't let one day go by without telling him how dear he is! Remember you may not have another year to tell him this!
All I have now is great memories, a heart full of love and eyes full of tears, and to remember his love throughout the years.
Now I will have to look up at the stars and say, "I love you, Daddy! Happy Father's Day!"
Please remember when you pray, to thank your heavenly father up above. For your father he gave you with so much love.
| During war it is difficult for politicians to be honest [we'll forgo the jokes here, folks] & (although I don't believe it's ours) there is a war in Iraq, with our nation's children fighting and dying daily. Let those of us who are not "professional politicians" keep things honest.
Today the weather in the middle east is:
Our military are carrying weapons, wearing multi-layers of clothing in dusty (at best) conditions, are in tents & huts outside of Bagdad, which is 6211 miles for Washington DC and possibly a lifetime from their homes.
Here's my prayer request:
Lead me from death to life, from falsehood to truth. Lead me from despair to hope, from fear to trust. Lead me from hate to love, from war to peace. Let peace fill our heart, our world, our universe. Peace, peace, peace.
(Adapted from the Upanishads by Satish Kumar.)
Amen

When I meditated on the word Guidance,
I kept seeing "dance" at the end of the word.
I remember reading
that doing God's will is a lot like dancing.
When two people try to lead,
nothing feels right.
The movement doesn't flow with the music,
and everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky.
When one person realizes that,
and lets the other lead,
both bodies begin to flow with the music.
One gives gentle cues,
perhaps with a nudge to the back
or by pressing Lightly in one direction or another.
It's as if two become one body,
moving beautifully.
The dance takes surrender, willingness,
and attentiveness from one person
and gentle guidance and skill from the other.
My eyes drew back to the word Guidance.
When I saw "G:
I thought of God, followed by "u" and "i".
"God, "u" and "i" dance."
God, you, and I dance.
As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust
that I would get guidance about my life.
Once again, I became willing to let God lead. I've dreamed many dreams that never came true. I've seen them vanish at dawn. But I've realized enough of my dreams, Thank God, To make me want to dream on. I've prayed many prayers, when no answers came, Though I waited patient and long, But answers came to enough of my prayers To make me keep praying on. I've trusted many a friend that failed And left me to weep alone, But I've found enough of my friends true blue To make me keep trusting on. I've sown many seeds that fell by the way For the birds to feed upon, But I have held enough golden sheaves in my hands To make me keep sowing on. I've drained the cup of disappointment and pain And gone many days without song, But I've sipped enough nectar from the roses of life To make me want to live on. Author Unknown..
I'll lend you for a little time a child of mine, He said ... For you to love the while he lives ... and mourn for when he's dead. It may be six or seven years, or twenty-two and three, But will you, till I call him back, take care of him for me? He'll bring his charms to gladden you. And shall his stay be brief, You'll have his lovely memories as solace for your grief. I cannot promise he will stay, since all from Earth return. But there are lessons, taught down there, I want this child to learn. I've looked the wide world over in search for teachers true, And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes, I have selected you. Now ... will you give him all your love ... nor think the labor in vain? Nor ... hate me when I come to call ... to take him back again? I fancied that I heard you say ... “Dear Lord, it will be done! “For all the joy Your Child shall bring, the risk of grief we'll run. “We'll shelter him with tenderness. We'll love him while we may, “And for the happiness we've known ... forever grateful stay. “But shall the angels call for him much sooner than we've planned, “We'll brave the bitter grief that comes ... and try to understand.” by Edgar Guest (I think) WHEN TOMORROW STARTS WITHOUT ME When tomorrow starts without me, Please try to understand, That an angel came and called my name, And took me by the hand; The angel said my place was ready, In Heaven far above, And that I'd have to leave behind, All those I dearly love. But when I walked through Heaven's gates, I felt so much at home, For God looked down, smiled at me, And told me "Welcome Home." So when tomorrow starts without me, Don't think we're far apart, For everytime you think of me, I'm right there in your heart. Copyright Carole 2004 The Dash I read of a man who stood to speak At the funeral of a friend He referred to the dates on her tombstone From the beginning to the end. He noted that first came her date of birth And spoke the following date with tears, But he said what mattered most of all Was the dash between those years. For that dash represents all the time That she spent alive on earth, And now only those who loved her Know what that little line is worth. For it matters not, how much we own; The cars, the house, the cash, What matters is how we live and love And how we spend our dash. So think about this long and hard, Are there things you'd like to change? For you never know how much time is left, That can still be rearranged. If we could just slow down enough To consider what's true and real, And always try to understand The way other people feel. And be less quick to anger, And show appreciation more And love the people in our lives Like we've never loved before. If we treat each other with respect, And more often wear a smile. Remembering that this special dash Might only last a little while. So, when your eulogy's being read With your life's actions to rehash, Would you be proud of the things they say About how you spent your dash? Linda Ellis, copyright 1996
God still sits on the throne, the devil is a liar. You may be going through a tough time right now but God is getting ready to bless you in a way that only He can. Keep the faith. This prayer is powerful, and prayer is one of the best gifts we receive. There is no cost but a lot of rewards. Let us continue to pray for one another. Here is the prayer: Father, I ask You to bless my friends, relatives and email buddies reading this right now. Show them a new revelation of Your love and power. Holy Spirit, I ask You to minister to their spirit at this very moment. Where there is pain, give them Your peace and mercy. Where there is self-doubt,release a renewed confidence through Your grace Bless their homes, families, finances, their goings and their comings In Jesus' name. Amen
